Dear Lord, can you take some accountability you whiny ass brat?
Yes, the Dems lost the Senate seat. That's on them. That's not on Bayh.
He didn't just decide at the last minute, he was the first out of the gate announcing he was not running for re-election. He gave them plenty of time to put forward a candidate. Back in February, he announced he wouldn't run.
Their failure to field a candidate who could win is on them.
Bayh made very clear that he was unhappy in the Senate. So he should have left, which he did.
How dare that scum imply that Bayh leaving is untoward or wrong or unpatriotic. How dare he. That piece of scum should be stuck to the bottom of everyone's shoe. I'm just not in the mood.
You know who else they wouldn't run for re-election?
Byron Dorgan. And, guess what, a Republican got elected in that open Senate seat as well.
I had a lot of respect for Senator Dorgan and think he will be sorely missed.
I went in having little to no respect for Bayh. He was a centrist Democrat and what could have have to offer? And then we attended hearings and I got to speak to him a few times and I saw how serious he was about some issues that mattered to me (service members being exposed to cancer causing agents, for example) and I had a lot of respect for him. He earned my respect on that issue and a few others.
I doubt the Senate will be the same without him or Dorgan and I will miss both.
But I do not for a single minute trash them as unpatroitic for leaving the Senate.
And I'm really not in the mood for people who can't take accountability for their own actions. (And I have to wonder, is Mr. AFSCME going to tear apart Ted Kennedy for dying in office? That's how he got replaced with Scott Brown. Or did we forget that?
