E has Madonna's new video "Girls Gone Wild" and Madonna opens it reciting an Act of Contrition -- apparently asking forgiveness for everything she's released since "Beautiful Stranger" -- mere ear candy, granted, but the last time she really deserved airplay.
Madonna, of course, did an "Act of Contrition" on Like A Prayer. It was the last track and feature her reciting the act over "Like A Prayer" played backwards.
For those who aren't Catholic, an Act of Contrition is something you're generally 'sentenced' to. Meaning you go to confession and the priest tells you to say an Act of Contrition as part of your atonement.
I don't know if Madonna can get forgiveness for the last twelve years. We're talking some music that really sucked -- even graded on a 'dance music' curve.
Realizing she's ten years older, she at least doesn't try to act all feminine. She instead wears what I'm guessing is soccer gear (though it may be la crosse) and looks like a matronly coach. Remember when Madonna used to be a trend setter?
If this is a new fashion trend look for "Women of Cell Block H" to be the hit of the fall scene.
While Madonna boxes herself in (literally, see the video), various attractive young men flash their arm pits towards the camera.
"Girls Gone Wild"?
Yes. See, the men kiss each other and Madonna is again equating the "cripples" (the term she used for gay men, not me) with "girls."
You'd think after being a gay icon for over 30 years, she'd have by now realized that gay man does not equal girl.
