Above is Isaiah's The World Today Just Nuts "The Taxer"
Buck naked. That's what TMZ says was Randy Travis condition when he got arrested.
Randy Travis is a country music artist. He came to fame in the 80s. His biggest hit was probably "Forever and Ever Amen." That's a song that didn't just scale the charts, it became an evergreen. People sang it at weddings. It was one of those 'event' songs.
I'm going to love you forever -- forever and ever amen . . .
He started charting on the country singles chart in 1985 and he has 16 number one hits. In addition, six other songs peaked at number two and two at number three. One more made it to number five. So that's 25 top five country hits.
My own favorites?
"It's Just A Matter of Time" and "Hard Rock Bottom Of Your Heart." They both went to number one (in 1989 and 1990 respectively).
I forget the name of the album but, the cover photo, I think, was of him in a black tank and with a cowboy hat.
It was a gift from a friend. He'd just moved from Texas to San Francisco. I liked his accent and thought he was interesting. (He was gay. I wasn't trying to hook up.)
Kevin saw my album collection and saw no country except for Emmy Lou Harris' blue grass. (There were a few others but he missed them.)
So he bought me that album.
A group of us would drink and sing along.
And Kevin swore that every gay bar in Texas had at least one man that could tell you they'd gone down on Randy Travis.
Is Travis gay?
I have no idea.
If he is, this would be a good time to come out. People might understand the meltdown that's been taking place for months if it revolved around someone driven to despair as they attempted to hide who they were.
Regardless of who he is, what he is is a great singer. I hope he pulls it together.
