"How thin does the ice have to get before someone falls through?"
That's what Eric Nordstrom asked today at the House Oversight Committee hearing into the September 11, 2012 attack on the US Consulate in Libya that killed four Americans.
Requests were made for additional security and were shot down.
Nordstrom is a Regional Security Officer with the State Department and had requested additional security on a phone calls with the State Department's Charlene Lamb who shot him down. He then put the request into writing. The government never responded to that request.
He explained that in his testimony, sitting at the table with three other witnesses including the State Department's Charlene Lamb who told the Committee that she nixed additional security ("I said personally I would not support it"). Why?
She insisted that they needed to Libyan army and police force to step up and provide security. Can you believe that crap?
In 2011, the US took part in the bombing of Libya and the killing of Qaddafi. And less than a year later, they think this struggling country can provide security for US diplomats?
This is amazing. And the only thing more appalling was the behavior of some Democrats. Especially Elijah Cummings. Especially him.
We now know the administration lied to America. We should all realize that they lied to help Barack's re-election effort. We need to know who came up with the cover story.
