I cannot take the heat this summer. Sorry.
We were speaking this afternoon and the electricity went out. Ava and C.I. stayed on for the whole thing (as did a good portion of the audience) but Wally and I bailed as soon as C.I. said (ten minutes after the electricity went off), "Anyone who is hot and needs to leave should do so. It's very hot in here and no one needs to pass out."
I grabbed Wally's hand and said, "Find the way out of here, we're gone."
Ava and C.I. managed to make it through. I couldn't do that. (A lot of the audience did as well.)
It was pretty much the whole grid that went down in that area of the city. Many, many blocks over, we saw places with electricity including a Wendy's. I screamed, "Stop!" And we went in, to the cool air, and I ordered the largest Frosty they have. Chocolate. And it wasn't that large. Dairy Queen has large malts and large Blizzards.
Closing with C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
