A number of e-mails ask me why I didn't do a review this week? For a second, I was scratching my head. Then I remembered last week noting an album I wanted to review.
But I never came back and said, "It's . . . and I'll be reviewing it."
And the reason is, no one knows what it is. I thought C.I.'s friend, a music label head, had brought it over. I was describing the sound to him and telling him the cover was a drawing, not a photograph and that it was black and white and something like writing on a barn door. He said he would gladly send me copies of any of the albums he brought over but that he didn't bring anything like that.
So I have no idea what it was.
I went to C.I.'s stack of albums people drop off or send and it wasn't there which may mean someone grabbed it already.
I even asked C.I. and she told me she never looked at any of the covers and only heard them in the background but if it was important to me, she'd try to figure out what it was. I told her not to worry about it and forgot about it.
And then the e-mails came in today. I'm sorry. I'll see if there's something I can review for this weekend. If there is, I will say so here before the end of the week.
Closing with C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
