I'm on season five of Charmed now. I finished episode 7 today. I'll try to finish Charmed season five by the end of the week (Friday).
Season five is my least favorite. I don't hate it. But as I watch, I'm remembering feeling like Piper got sidelined (feeling that way when watching them air for the first time on the WB) and wondering if Holly Marie Combs was pregnant and that's why they made Piper pregnant?
But she wasn't.
A pregnancy might be a good storyline on a soap opera but with crime fighters?
Too much Phoebe in season five. It was really out of balance.
Ironically, for the first half of the year, Phoebe was out of balance -- her mind was over her heart and that would stop premonitions. It took a gypsy (Lydia) to help her see what the problem was.
Paige went red headed. That's was like it for Paige.
It looks like she'll get a story. She's made a social worker in the season opener. (Not an assistant as she was the year before.) And then she ends up quitting because the Charmed work takes up too much time. And that's really it for her for the season.
She gets some funny lines but we're still caught up in the Cole and Phoebe drama and by season five it's boring as hell. You know they can't be together so the what-will-happen has left the relationship. (You know they can't be together due to season four.)
Be sure to read Elaine's "F Ani DiFranco" which I love.
Closing with C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
