"Kat's Korner: Falling in (and out of) love with M. Ward" went up Sunday. It has resulted in many e-mails.
First, I did not know I was breaking street date until Jonah e-mailed to tell me the album comes out next week. My apologies if anyone was bothered by that.
Second, Sabrina and several others e-mailed asking why there was no heads up? Jess had played me track one over the phone and I loved it. But I had forgotten about it until we got home on the weekend at which point, Jess said, "Aren't you going to listen?" So I listened to the album and enjoyed six of the tracks.
Several visitors e-mailed that all I ever do is hate on musicians.
You don't know me and you don't read me. I actually avoid reviews where I tear apart an album. Why? I'm hoping to get at least 8 reviews of strong albums that can result in at least 8 of my picks for the year's 10 best.
In seven years, I'd be surprised if anyone could name more than 14 album reviews that were negative reviews.
In fact, I'll note the negative ones right now:
I was wrong. It's 23 albums. (Actually 22 plus 1 single.) 23 out of 121 music pieces? I still don't think it's that much.
Closing with C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
