She didn't know what she was talking about and she used her time to attack the Office of Inspector General and to rationalize and minimize the VA's lies. She didn't call them lies, she refused to face reality.
To hear crazy Corrine prattle on, the problem was not that the VA had lied to Congress for over a year about wait times, insisting that they had lowered them. No, the problem was that this mean Office of Inspector General had done a report about things they didn't know about.
There are, Corrine wanted to proclaim, referrals! And the IG didn't factor that in, she just knew. The Va did less than 2% of all veterans appointments last year with referrals -- outsourcing it to a community provider due to the VA not being able to meet the demand.
As C.I. notes in her snapshot, this was established in the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee hearing last April.
Corrine Brown made a fool of herself today and made it clear that she serves on the Committee not to protect veterans but to play partisan politics and act the fool.
Closing with C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
